    No entiendo la pregunta muy bien pues parece muy básica y obvia.

    El asunto es determinar si Jom es persona o lugar (restaurante, pueblo, etc.). Además en inglés debería ser Jom's, no?

    Preparar/hacer la cena/comida en [la]casa de Jom.
    Preparar/hacer la cena/comida en [el/la ???] de Jom.

    En Vzla. y Col. usamos el verbo cocinar (cocer) cuando se refiere directamente a alimentos. Por ejemplo: cocinar arroz, cocinar las papas muy bien, etc. No usamos cocinar para referirnos a ninguna de las tres comidas (meals)desayuno, almuerzo o cena/comida, sino preparar.

    That's correct Cotty. "at" suggests that Jom is either a person or a restaurant but without the apostrophe it has to be a place...or it is poorly written.

    If Jom were a location, a town, for instance, it could be said to be "at" or "in" Jom. If Jom is a person, it would be at Jom's. If Jom is a restaurant it would also be at Jom's.
