Wet read has to do with radiology and generally means to read an x-ray immediately.

"An obsolete term that formerly dignified the diagnostic interpretation of a radiographic film immediately following processing of the film (i.e., while it was still wet from hand processing). X-rays are now processed by a dry chemical process or, increasingly, digitally."
