I've heard many people from Venezuela say the word "vaina". What does this word exactly mean how what would be the translation in English?

Actually a "vaina" is the name given to a sheath or scabbard, and it also is the name of a vegetable.
But in venezuela they use "vaina" as "something".
Example:
¡Quita esa vaina de mi cara!
Remove that thing (vaina) from my face!
Hope it helped

Oh, I see, it's one of those multi-purpose words...
It's a word commonly used in Colombia as well.
"Me lleva él o me lo llevo yo
Pa' que se acabe la vaina"
