...they generally prefer (habla sobre empresas estatales), as many private businesses, to finance their transactions and developement through debt than equity as equity is often not available, and interest paid are deductible from their taxable benefits at corporation tax. ...
Gracias
The word "equity" has different translations.
1. patrimonio neto, capital
2. capital accionario, acciones
Expressions with "equity":
equity capital: patrimonio neto
equity securities: acciones comunes o preferidas
According to this, "patrimonio neto" or "capital" would convey exactly the same meaning.
I hope this helps!
Thanks a lot Amelia, I think I got the sense.
See you.

Having home equity is like sitting on treasure. You can get a loan on it whenever required. The process involved in getting a loan approved is a daunting task. There are many steps that have to be followed diligently for the successful availing of the loan quickly. Shortcuts are a strict no-no and would just make the process more tedious and meandering.

Hello all!!
I have a question that I didn't understand because I thought companies issued stock to finance themselves...
When it says that "equity is not available", does it say it because they are government companies and can't issue stocks?
I also found this cool site with a big finance glossary
