    Birth Certificate = Certificado de Nacimiento (in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Spain)
    Office of Vital Records = Registro Civil (in Mexico and Spain); Registro Demográfico (in Puerto Rico)

    Certificate of Live Birth = Certificado de Nacimiento (in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Spain)

    En Perú y no sé si en otros países se dice, Certificado de nacido vivo, que es el que expide el hospital, con el que después el padre, madre, tutor, va al Registro civil para inscribir el nuevo nacimiento.

    Hola a todos.

    Esta cuestión de "nacimiento" (a secas) o "nacimiento con vida" (más literal) presenta la decisión generalmente difícil de elegir una traducción literal o "fiel" al original o, por el otro lado, una traducción más localizada para el lector y de más rápida comprensión.

    Sobre la "fidelidad" o "literalidad" de la traducción, he escrito un par de artículos muy interesantes en el blog de traducción:
