Hello margieben,
Este acuerdo es firmado en entre y
I'm no expert so, perhaps, there will be another option.

We normally don't put two prepositons together son en entre just doesn't sound right.
Maybe it would be better to include the whole sentence if you want it to sound idiomatic in the target language, as you just don't build the sentences the same way in both languages.
Maybe something like "xxxx and xxxx firman el presente acuerdo" or "xxxxxx y xxxxx se comprometen por el presente acuerdo a...." could work but it's hard to tell without context.
Of course not. And if you read it all together it does not make sense...I just missed the ____________ between the prepositions. I thought it was clear for everyone. We normally don't put two prepositons together son en entre just doesn't sound right.
Este acuerdo es firmado en _______________entre_____________ y_______...
I agree but without context and being an agreement, I would not change the English format. I have read agreements/Letters of Intent and MOU with headings just like that in Spanish."xxxx and xxxx firman el presente acuerdo" or "xxxxxx y xxxxx se comprometen por el presente acuerdo a...." could work but it's hard to tell without context.

Oh, I see! Then it's perfectly ok.
In any case I wouldn't use "este acuerdo es firmado" as it sounds too much as a literal translation. "Se firma este acuerdo" sounds a bit more idiomatic but maybe acuerdo is not even the most appropriate word for this. Context is everything!
You're right. Without context we're at loss...hope is not CONTRATO because then, the legal intention changes completely.
margieben, if you're not comfortable with the response, why don't you try to post some more context?

Hi friends . The style tha most lawyers would use in Venezuela is as follows:
Hope it helps

Saludos!
Muy buena aclaración! Es igual en Argentina.Originally Posted by salarmenmx
