De esta manera se limita la diferencia de potencial que puedan presentar las masas metálicas, permitiendo a los diferenciales la detección de corrientes de fuga.

This way the potential difference is limited that can present the metallic masses, allowing to the differentials the detection of leakage currents.

I'm not a native speaker and I'm not sure about the terms so my remarks are purely grammatical:
"diferencia de potencial" should be something like "difference in potential" instead of "potential difference"
As for the second clause, I would rewrite it to: "allowing differentials to detect leakage currents."
