    Default Drop segment

    Hello everyone!!

I cannot figure what "drop segment" means in this sentence... Can anyone help me, please?? It comes from the explanation of a core drill...

    Thanks in advance!!!

Default "Front drop segment" = "Crenellated"

Core drill bits have two protective cylindrical shells.

Crenellated protective shells help to spin off bore material through the open segments of the sides thereby diminishing the probability of the drill bit getting clogged.
