    Default French abbreviation for United States?

    Hi,

    Does anybody know the correct abbreviation for United States in french ?
    Maybe É-U? Or É.-U?
    Also, I would like to know if the same abreviation is used in both French canadian and French from France.

    Just check this link from the Canadian government: UNITED STATES [1 record] - TERMIUM*Plus® — Search*-*TERMIUM Plus®
    Comment from that link: «É.-U.» est l'abréviation des deux formes du nom du pays. USA est l'indicatif à trois lettres pour représenter la forme longue, «États-Unis d'Amérique», tandis que US est l'indicatif à deux lettres pour représenter la forme abrégée, «États-Unis». Les indicatifs reconnus par l'ISO servent pour l'adressage du courrier. L'OTAN utilise le code US.
