Thread: Weatherproof and spiral-bound

Hi there, I'm working on translating product info for our company and would like to translate the phrase in the title line, which refers to a pocket-size operator's manual. I came up with 'encuadernado en espiral' for spiral-bound, and 'a prueba de la intemperie' for weatherproof. Are these correct? Is there a better way? A single word for weatherproof? Thanks!!

A very frequent translation in Spanish for "weatherproof" is "resistente al agua" or "impermeable", even though the word in English refers to being resistant to other climate conditions (water, wind, etc.) In this case, "resistente al agua" means that it is only resistant to water, but I think it applies pretty well in this context.

Regarding the 'spiral-bound' part, I haven't looked it up, but according to what you said, it can be translated as "anillado". At least that's how we say it in Argentina

i agree with gisel, in argentina we say anillado but espiralado o con espiral sounds good, and the word impermeable is the one i'd use. Google "encuadernados impermeables"
