Default how do you say teeth-gritting consent in Spanish?

    Hi everybody!
I want to know how would you translate teeth-gritting consent into Spanish.
I found it in the following context:
Alice was dating David with her father's teeth-gritting consent.
    My attempt would be
El padre de Alice había aceptado
a regañadientes que ella se viera con David.
But I am not sure whether this phrase is neutral enough to be used for different Spanish readers.

    Thanks!

    Clarab,

the meaning is ok, and for me, regañadientes is ok for every spanish speaking country!
Anyway let's wait for someone else's contribution.

Thanks Diegonel, Where are you from? I have never heard any Spanish speaker from Latam using that word.
    Regards!

    Saludos
