    Default Can't figure out this translation

    I'm helping a friend of mine translate a book from English to Spanish. I can't figure out how to translate the word "Breakthrough". Can anyone help me out.

    example: a breakthrough in negotiations= un gran avance en las negociaciones

    hi Callen, breaktrough could be translated as "descubrimiento" as well, could you please post the sentence in context?

    I think mvictoria is right, but in the scientific context. Can you give us more context to decide which one's the best translation?
