    Hi gscook !!! Welcome to the forum.. The sentences means that you have to visit Ecuador to practice the language and get to know the children.

    I think the person is inviting you to visit him/her

    Ah...ok that makes sense. I got the first bit of the sentence but I didn't understand the latter. She runs a childrens charity in Ecuador but I like the idea of going to see her. So, how could I say 'That would be great, I hope that the children are doing well'?

    You could say something like "Sería estupendo.. Espero que los niños estén bién"
