Thread: reversible

HI

I wonder if i can use reversible for hoja (de papel) doble faz, meaning that it has text on both sides.

Reversible is not the best choice for paper. Although the meaning is conveyed, this is not the term we generally use in Spanish.

Perhaps you could try with:
- hoja escrita tanto en el anverso como en el reverso
- hoja escrita de ambos lados
- ambos lados de la hoja
- (for printers) impresión dúplex

For localized expressions, I recommend you visit a blog on translations with a lot of posts about the different language academies for Spanish.

Here are some examples:

Academia Ecuatoriana de la Lengua

Academia Nacional de Letras de Uruguay

Academia Nicaragüense de la Lengua

In these institutions there are linguists who answer a special phone line for queries.

What is more, anyone, not just high-rank authorities, can ask questions and they are answered fast and accurately.

Regarding the word "reversible" it is the word in english i asked about. A "reversible sheet".
But i came up with the word "double sized sheet"
what do you think?

You, of course, mean double-sided sheet. I agree with Tess...can't think of any other way to say it.

As @reminder, at first I thought you were asking to the equivalent or reversible sheet in Spanish

BTW, reversible sheets seem to apply to bed sheets only.
