Sandra’s translations were correct, but I have another suggestion for retire. It depends which retire you mean, but in English it s usually used to refer to when you stop working after 60, which in Spanish is jubilarse. Retiro is correct but would translate to withdrawal and usually isn’t used in this context.

You are right Emily, I guess I should have written both
retiro/jubilacion.
In Cuba we use more retiro that is why I used it but you're absolutely right.
In Cuban Spanish it also refers to the pension you collect after you retire...retiro, I mean... cobrar el retiro means to collect your pension (after you retire, of course) This is in Cuba, don't know about other Spanish speaking countries.

Sandra and Emily are right. To retire means jubilarse o pensionarse. Both words have the exact meaning in Spanish, it depends on the country.
