I think you can translate this way:

Los individuos nos esforzamos por vivir dentro de una banda única en la que él o ella puedan hacer frente adecuadamente/debidamente.

I' d rather go for "grupo" instead of "banda". And I'd change the indirect complement "nos" for "se" and omit the personal pronouns "el-ella".

However, there is something missing in the sentence: "cope adecquately". Cope what with? isn't there an indirect object missing?

yes, I think like diegonel, maybe the Individuals, in a group, can cope better... ahmmm... the life issues, I guess.

First of all, I meant "DIRECT OBJECT AND NOT INDIRECT FOR COPE"
