Thread: La Viaba

I've been trying to find an English translation for 'La Viaba' and/or for just 'Viaba' - can anyone help? It's the title of a song by the Argentinian band La Perra Que Los Pario. Maybe they're using it in a slang context? The only hint I can find online is that 'viaba' can mean 'forthcoming', but that doesn't seem to fit.

Hi, yes 'Viaba' is an Argentinian slang for a 'Blow', usually given in retaliation or punish. "Le dio una Viaba por portarse mal".

Actually, looking at the lyrics as below I'm wondering whether it means 'blow' in the context of the English slang 'blow' meaning cannabis or the like?

Now that I read the context I think that Brazzeire is right.

Now after a bit more digging I think I might be wrong. I've scanned through the lyrics of about 10 other songs of theirs and they all seem to be about peoples love and feelings and so on, so maybe La Viaba could be a slang word for love or being in love or something? I'm probably wrong again

Sometimes it's difficult to understand what a singer means when using certain words! Probably he refers to Viaba as Love or ****

I posted the same question on the band's Facebook page and got this reply - "the 'viaba' in Argentine slang means 'beat' or 'hit' ... The singer is a song used large hands made of rubber and when it rings it's a PARTY!!". I didn't fully understand the reply, but I did see a video of the singer waving huge hands in the air and the crowd waving their arms in the air as they danced. The reason I am interested in this is because I've just started my own sole enterprise called VIABA Limited, which stands for Validation, Information Architecture and Business Analysis. Party on
