    Hi People,

    "promedio general" in a qualification record is the sum of all the subject passed. How can I transtated "GRADE POINT AVERAGE?

    Promedio ponderado?

    Segun entiendo el promedio ponderado toma en cuenta el "peso" del curso. Asi por ejemplo no es lo mismo aprobar con una nota sobresaliente un curso de 5 creditos que hacer lo mismo con un curso de 1 credito.

    Se usan en México Calificación Promedio o Promedio de Calificaciones. También en España se usan Nota Media o Nota media del expediente académico

    Pues. promedio general. Creo que seria literalamente "general grade average" o "average grade". Pero sí, Grade Point Average o GPA es lo que usan.

    Hola Vicente, como aca en mi paìs el promedio general (sistema de aprobaciòn) difiere mucho de aquel en los Estados Unidos optè por poner TOTAL GRADE AVERAGE. Casi igual a tu sugerencia.

    Sobre lo que comenta CaliforniaMan, entiendo que ese concepto en inglés es "pondered average" o "weighted average".

    No he oido "pondered average" pero si, "weighted average" se usan, asi como dice Californiaman, cuando le dan la importancia a un curso sobre otro.

    Si no es asi TOTAL GRADE AVERAGE es bueno. Otro opción seria "overall average"
