    Default a well-established garden

¿Cómo se traduciría "well-established" en la frase siguiente?: I asked the first labourer I met where "The Doctor" lived, and was directed to a house overlooking the village-green, and standing back from the road -a house with a well-established garden surrouding, and creepers, ...

Hi. My name is Joel. I know I'm kind of jumping ahead here. I did post a greeting in the introduction thread. I've been a student of the Spanish language over a number of years. I posted here, because I've been racking my brain the last few days about questions like this thread, as a result of a project I have going in English to Spanish. So, I looked up some possibilities. I'd like to propose a couple of them:

I would think un jardin bien "entablado" just might work alright.

The other ideas I found were:

    bien fundado

    and

    bien estatuido,

although, I have my biggest doubts about this last one, from both these last two choices (fundar and estatuir).

Just some ideas that showed up because my head has been running this way during this weekend.

Hello, again. I'm also looking forward to possibilities in the forum.

    Joel H.

I have no idea what the best Spanish phrase would be but a native should know.

In order to help I offer this:

"well-established" means to be in a state of relative maturity, i.e., not a new or young thing but something that has been around awhile and is generally well known or well founded with a respected reputation.

Common uses of well-established are: a well-established business; a well-established reputation; a well-established law or medical practice; a well-established university; a well established program of conservation; a well-established system, etc., etc.

Something that has been "well developed"; "well founded"

In the case of a garden I'd think it meant that it was a garden with mature plants and features, all in healthy and well-manicured condition.
