Hi CiroIngles,
It is a passive voice, though it does not have an agent (because it is unknown or too obvious): People know her as (being) a great writer.
Hope it helps!
Thanks ................... mi confución was the personal pronoun "she" ...........
Ex : 1 The letter was delivered yesterday
2 The house was built in 1975
3 The room will be cleaned while we are out.
------> 1 . The letter ..... 2 .The house ....... 3 . The room ...... -----> are things then I think : ----> personal pronouns ? but I get it
People know her as (being) a great writer. ---------> "....her...." is indirect object = "she" --> passive voice .........
I think that is so ......... maybe not ...... I hope so .
Thank you .
Think about the doer of the action. In the case of the house (it), it was built by someone. Therefore, the house is the thing that is affected by the action of the doer (agent, the someone that builds the house).
In a similar way, "she" is not the doer of the event, but is affected by those who know her. "She" is therefore the patient and not the agent of the sentence (the agent is obvious or unknown).
Is it clear?
Yes. Clarísimo.
