    Default Upon that step

¿Cómo se traduce "upon that step" en el siguiente texto?: He shook my hands off, for the first time in my memory, with an impatient gesture, and stalked across the hall and opened the outer door himself, as though it were though any fault of mine Geoffrey had left his widoe so powerless in the matter of a second marriage. Yo diría: En el quicio de la puerta...ya que al parecer no ha salido aún de la casa.

    Hi Exx!!

This might be open to interpretation and I'm not sure step refers to a physical step, as in a stair step or porch step.

The way it is written it seems to me that it might be like "at that point he turned..."

    What do you think?

I agree with vicente. "En ese momento..." would be a good translation!

Sí, creo que vicente tiene razón. No suena bien traducirlo como "en el escalón."
