Smile Translation help needed! Thank you!

    Hi!

I would like to seek for advice on which sentence makes more sense or is better?

English: "Because memories tend to be beautiful. That is why it hurts."

Spanish 1: Debido a que los recuerdos tienden a ser hermoso. Por eso me duele.

Spanish 2: Como las memorias tienden a ser hermosas. Es por eso que esto duele.

Or are there any sentences that will make more sense?

Thank you in advance for the help!

Hello Omgoshwth, I would put it in these words:

Porque los recuerdos suelen ser hermosos. Es por esto que duele.

    Hope it helps

    Hi:

I believe you have to coordinated sentences and shouldn't use a period to separate them (the first one is subordinated to the second):

    1. Como/Dado que/Porque los recuerdos son hermosos, esto duele.
    2. Como/Dado que/Porque los recuerdos son hermosos, duelen.

What's important to determine is what the pronoun it (in it hurts) is referring to. Are the memories the ones that hurt (2) or is it a specific memory (1)?

Right, I agree with Estefania on avoiding the period, it doesn´t sound right in Spanish.

And what about adding "por eso duelen", in a way to be more emphatic? like "Como los recuerdos son hermosos, por eso duele/duelen..."

yes, and the question is right, because depending on the answer to this question, it might be "por eso duelen" (general) or "por eso duele" (some particular situation hurts)

"Because memories tend to be beautiful. That is why it hurts."

I'm looking at "tend to be" which indicates that NOT ALL memories are beautiful...and some certainly are not.

    So a different take:

La mayoria de los recuerdos son hermosas, y asi duele/duelen.

Hi people! Thank you so much for the suggestions!

Because I am totally clueless about spanish and those english sentences I inserted was from an online translation website.

Basically the phrase I written [Because memories tend to be beautiful, that is why it hurts] means that in general, what our memories remember are usually more beautiful, that is why when we think about it, it hurts. Not just one particular memory, but all different kind of memories that we cherish.

And was actually finding the best translation that can mean the same as the phrase [Because memories tend to be beautiful, that is why it hurts]. So I'd like to ask which suggestion you guys have provided is/sounded the best?

1: Porque los recuerdos suelen ser hermosos. Es por esto que duele.

2: Porque los recuerdos son hermosos, duelen.

    3:
Como los recuerdos son hermosos, por eso duelen.

    4:
La mayoria de los recuerdos son hermosas, y asi duele/duelen.

    5.
Porque los recuerdos son hermosos, por eso duelen.

Really grateful for the help guys!

    Thanks so much!

Hi! Now that we do have an answer to it, I would say:

Porque/Como los recuerdos son hermosos, duelen.

Adding por eso/así seems a bit redundant to me!

    Hope it helps!

I think it depends on how the phrase is to be used. For instance porque and como are also superfluous if this is like a motto or a tattoo. If you are looking for an economy of words why not just say "beautiful memories hurt". los recuerdos hermosos duelen.

On the other hand if you're writing a poem, a story or a letter you might want to be a little more explicit and/or flowery.

    I agree, with vicente.

Como, porque, dado que are connectors and work well when you apply them in a text. If it is a motto, I would also go with "Los recuerdos duelen".
