    Default patronised in person

Hola. ¿Cómo se traduciría "patronised" en la frase siguiente?: More frequently I see the grand programme collapse, and the final scene of the drama played out in the Vice-Chancellor´s Court or else patronised in person by the Chief Judge in Bankruptcy, to say nothing of a host of clamorous creditors.
El texto procede de la novela The haunted house at Latchford, escrita por Charlotte Riddell y publicada en 1872.
    Gracias por vuestra ayuda.

    mmmm
