Hi, I was wondering if anyone could take the time to look through my Spanish letter and see if there are any grammar mistakes/misplaced idioms. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. To make it easier, I have added the English I was using in my head before the translated Spanish. Thank you again for your time.

I read in your newspaper last week that the Spanish government hopes to establish language exchange programmes with Ireland to help improve the language skills of young people. I believe that this is a fantastic idea. I am sure that this project is going to be an enriching experience for all. This exchange of knowledge will encourage discussion. With this exchange, we can develop the capacity for self-appraisal of the students and introduce a system suited to the capabilities and aptitudes of the pupil.

Leí en su periódico la semana pasada que el gobierno de España espera establecer intercambios de idiomas con Irlanda para mejorar las destrezas de lengua de los jóvenes. Creo que es una idea fantástica. Estoy seguro de que este proyecto va a ser una experiencia enriquecedora para todo. El intercambio de conocimientos fomentará la discusión. Con este intercambio, podremos desarrollar la capacidad auto​crítica del alumno y presentar a un sistema adecuado a las capacidades y aptitudes del alumno.

Ireland can offer much to the students that come here. One cannot deny that Spain is bursting with tourists and the beaches are overflowing. Ireland is a place far form the noise of the cities. There is nothing more relaxing than to take a break from the daily grind and be at one's ease. There are many facilities in our schools, and in addition, one can wake up to bird song or leave behind the hustle and bustle of the city and breath clean air.

Irlanda puede ofrecer mucho a los estudiantes que vengan aquí. No se puede negar que España está a tope de turistas y las playas están a rebosar. Irlanda es un lugar alejado del ruido de las ciudades. No hay nada más relajante que descansar del ajetreo cotidiano y estar a sus anchas. Hay muchas instalaciones en nuestros colegios, y por añadidura, se puede amanecer con el canto de los pájaros o dejar atrás el bullicio de la ciudad y respirar aire puro.

When the students arrive in Ireland, it's important that they take advantage of all the opportunities that they are offered. If their parents had learned more English, they could have received good marks in university entrance exams, in England or the USA. The classes start at 9 and finish at 3:45. One can study many subjects, for example Physics, English, Applied Maths, Biology as well as Accounting. There is a wide range of subjects to study in this country.

Cuando los alumnos lleguen a Irlanda, es importante que aprovechen de todos los oportunidades que les se ofrecen. Si sus padres hubieran aprendido más Inglés, podrían sacar buenas notas en la Selectividad en Inglaterra o los Estados Unidos. Las clases empiezan a las nueve y terminan a las cuatro menos cuarto. Se puede estudiar muchas asignaturas, por ejemplo física, inglés, mates aplicadas, biología y así como la contabilidad. Hay una gran variedad de materias que estudiar en este país.

When they stay here, they can explore new horizons. If they come during Transition Year, they can find a part-time job. I hope that they spend Saturdays on the golf course, but I hope to God that the weather improves. As if that was not enough, they must go to the racecourse in order to see the horse races. This brings us to the inevitable conclusion that Ireland is a well-organized tourist destination. There is no other valid conclusion.

Candy ellos se queden aquí, pueden explorar nuevos horizontes. Si vengan durante el año de transición, pueden encontrar un trabajo de tiempo parcial. Espero que se pasen los sábados en el campo de golf pero ojalá que el tiempo mejore. Por si eso fuera poco, deben ir al hipódromo para ver las carreras de caballos. Esto nos lleva a la conclusión inevitable que Irlanda es un país turísticamente muy organizado. No hay otra conclusión de valga.

I wish I could conclude by saying that there aren't any problems. I have written before that one can't find neither a hotel nor an apartment in Ireland. The cost of accommodation here disgusts me. If the students want to book a room, they will have to spend a small fortune. Therefore it's best that the students stay in boarding schools during their stay here.

Ojalá pudiera concluir diciendo que no hay algunos problemas. Había escrito antes que no se puede encontrar ni hotel ni apartamiento en Irlanda. Me da aseo el coste del alojamiento aquí. Si los alumnos quieren reservar una habitación, tendrán que gastar un dineral. Por eso es mejor que los alumnos se queden en internos durante su estancia aquí.
