How to translate "Machine is idle" ?
I was looking for a good translation of IDLE, but I could only find it as "ocioso"
The context is an instructive panflet, so the least amount of words is the best.
I have thought of "la maquina está en reposo" o "máquina reposando".
More context: "leave the machine idle" "the machine should be idle"
Any better suggestions?
Re: How to translate "Machine is idle" ?
I should use "en reposo".
I've seen "stand by" as an option as well
Re: How to translate "Machine is idle" ?
what about "inactiva"?
And what exactly do you mean by "the machine should be idle"? That the owner should not use it for a while, but without turning it off? No activities at all??

Apague la máquina.

En el contexto automotriz, "idle" significa "marcha en vacío". En este contexto, se me ocurre que podría ser "encendida" (pero no en funcionamiento). :)
