Thread: Nicaragua Spanish

We correspond with someone in Nicaragua and the Spanish translation software we use does not seem to grasp many of the words. Does anyone know of a site or program specific to Nicaraguan Spanish (idiomatic) or can you help with the translation below, please:

As for good sites for Nicaraguan spanish, just try some simple internet searches and see what comes up, but we are happy to help here in the forum!

No problem hnnica, glad I could help! What translation software are you using?

We are using a combination of "Easy Translator" software and Google Translator (Online). Do you have better suggestion for the more local, dialectic, Nicaraguan Spanish?

What happens in this letter is that many of this words are misspelled for example:

grasia = gracias, cotento = contento, poedo = puedo, and many others.... any software can't traduce correctly

Moyses: I can't understand the phrase any software can't traduce correctly... (be careful! the English for "traducir" is "translate", ok?)

When the Spanish speaker wrote traduce, she meant translate. She is correct. There is nothing in this letter that is particularily idiomatic or that is specific to Nicaragua. It simply has to many errors for a machine to be able to figure out what is meant.
