    Default above and beyond

    Hi:
How would you translate "above and beyond" in this sentence: Sheila's always taken a special interest in her students, especially the troubled ones, and goes above and beyond what other teachers do.
My first idea was ..."y hace mucho más por ellos que otros maestros", but I'm not fully satisfied with it. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Hi, Andrea! Your suggestion seams ok. But phrases such as "por encima de" or "más allá de" could help you as an alternative...

E.g.: Sheila siempre ha demostrado un interés especial por sus alumnos; en especial, por aquellos que tienen más dificultades, en comparación con el/más allá del/por encima del interés general que muestran otros maestros.

    Hope you find it useful!
