estaban algo perplejos (los monárquicos) sobre este punto, ya que habiendo caído el hijo del conde d´Eu ellos prefieren al .... o al Infante..

Los Miguelistas estaban en cualquier caso completamente descartados.

Vivo en españa desde hace 20 años, soy nativo de escocia y soy traductor del español de españa (castellano). Las traducciones que te estan ofreciendo no me parecen muy acertadas. Yo diria algo asi:
