Thread: turning out

Hola!! Tengo la siguiente frase:
Many children cope by "turning out".
Pienso que vendría a ser algo como: MUCHOS NIÑOS SE LAS ARREGLAN REASULTANDO.
El texto habla sobre las dificultades de los niños autistas en los grupos de enseñanza grupal.
"expecting a student with autism to participate and benefit from group instruction can be frustrating to both teachers and students. Difficulty knowing where to focus; problems shifting attention; dealing with simultaneous sounds, words, sights, motion, touch, and other sensory stimulation; and weak auditory processing skills combine to make group instruction confusing, bewildering, confusing, or even upsetting to some children. "Turning out" doesn't make sense to me. I wonder if it's a typo for "tuning out" which would make a lot of sense. "Tuning out" means to block out incoming information.
