Thread: out of the blue

Hi everybody!

I am translating The Locked Room, a story written by Paul Auster, and I would need help with some phrases.
The first one (i will write one phrase per thread):
"You don´t know me" the letter began, "and I aplogize for writing to you like this out of the blue."

I perfectly understand the meaning of the phrase, but i don´t find the way to translate it into Spanish. Can anybody help me??

You have many options and would depend on your style but some suggestions would be:

...por escribirte tan repentinamente
...´___ así no más

out of the blue means: Cuando menos se espera- Inesperadamente- Repentinamente- De la nada- Como caído del Cielo - Así no más -
