or it's them (the others) who think that?

The sentence is:

"...There's them that say Neptune stirs up sea monsters from the deep."

I've tranlated:

No tengo demasiado
interés en las ninfas
ni en cosas parecidas
pero hay quien dice que
Neptuno azuza a los
monstruos de las profundidades
para que salgan.

Is that correct? Thanks

yes it's an impersonal use but here it's rather colloquial or sounds to me rather 'rustic'. Correctly one would say 'there are those that say'.

or it could be "pero están los que dicen que ...."

sounds lovely and very poetic!
however I think from the original that the 'there's them that...' that it is more an impersonal ( hence hay quien..in translation) albeit technically incorrect English expression. I would be interested to know the source of the passage . Was it by any chance West Country English? I don't know , I can just imagine this being said with a West Country twang (my parents are from Devon)
