Need translation for sign
I live in a condo complex. Nearly the entire grounds maintenance crew is spanish speaking. My wife enjoys keeping up our flower beds and shrubs so I would like to post a sign in english and spanish reading "Please do not trim or weed" (of course, trim & weed being verbs).
I have been to several translation websites and each comes up with its own version, confusing me even more.
May I get the final, unequivocal translation from you folks?
Thanks
Re: Need translation for sign
Hi red, Spanish from where?
Re: Need translation for sign
Hi Red Beard,
No corte nuestro césped, gracias may be useful or
Gracias por no cortar nuestro césped.
hope it helps. Although as exx said, the words may vary depending on where the crew is from.
Re: Need translation for sign
Se podría decir también,
Favor de no cortar la grama (o césped) ni desyerbar.
En Puerto Rico, dicen "desyerbar" cuando se refieren a "weeding."
Me gusta la forma cortés en que Sandra T dijo, Gracias por no...
Suena muy amable, ¿no?
Saludos.

Re: Need translation for sign
Since the sign is referring to "flower beds and shrubs", not grass, I would say:
Favor de no recortar las flores y los arbustos ni desyerbar.
