Hello,
reading a book, i found a phrase whose meaning i could gess but i would not be able to translate. Can anybody help me?
the phrase in its content:
"Ten years had passed since that memorable honeymoon; he had scaped to London and become a barrister, but had long since accepted that he was tethered to her for life."

The word is m=now used in electronic communications - 'being tethered to the Internet or cell phones being tethered to a network.
