Thread: Song translation (from English to Spanish).

Hello!

I fortunately found this site.

I have been trying to contact someone in Argentina (a teacher) who had told me that they would be happy to translate some English lyrics to Spanish.

However, they have not responded back. The reason I wanted to work with her is that she assured me that she had musical composition experience in these matters.

The task is to translate some musical lyrics from English to Spanish. This task will not be easy, and will require the translator to have very good English and Spanish vocabularies.

If you would be interested in assisting me on this project for a fee, then please reply back to me, and I will provide the lyrics. I can also send you the song itself if that will assist you.

I am actually trying to gain a share of the Latin market based on some songs that I have actually composed myself.

Hi Alfredo,

As it happens, I'm a songwriter also and sometimes I translate established songs just for fun. Translating a song is unlike translating anything else, even poetry, because the lyrics in the target language must fit the melody like a glove. The translation must sound natural and retain the artistic strength of the original.
