Estoy traduciendo un libro que se llama "Sexo & el Creyente" de inglés al español

Tengo una duda, en este libro dice los siguiente:

I challenge anyone to show me from the WORD OF YHWH alone, where a couple not engaged, betrothed, or committed to marriage, are considered to be in fornication, if the two people engage in ***, other than intercourse! [It may not be appropriate, or modest, but if we stick only with Scripture, it is plain to see.]

Mi duda la marque en letra negrita, no se como traducir esa parte. Espero que alguien me ayuda, se lo agradecería mucho.

Me parece que las tres estrellitas son para la palabra sexo (tres *** tres letras en ***). Con esa aclaracion deberias poder traducir la oracion sin problema.
