¿Puede revisar la oración original? Así no tiene sentido.
sí es verdad. Sé me pasó. es la siguiente:
"he was incapable of nursing an injustice which would cost him good living to repay, an evil thought which it would undo him to give back, or even sorrow in his bosom".
gracias.
Maybe context would help, but it's odd English. Something seems off. The word "it" should be deleted from the phrase "an evil thought which it would undo him to give back" but I still don't know what it means.
repaying injustice, giving back an evil thought---strange
I could see something costing "a good living" if, for example, someone would lose his/her job but "cost good living" doesn't sound right.
What is the source?
marialec,
it´s from a book "The man who loved children" written by christina stein.
and yes, it´s odd English.
Thanks for your interest and help.
The Man Who Loved Children by Christina Stead
