    Default spanish tattoo, translation needed!

hi everybody, im new to this forum and am looking to get a tattoo in spanish. ive only done 3 weeks of spanish so im not going to trust myself on the translation, so i was looking for help.

i want the tattoo to read "take my hand, now you will live through me, i'll make you proud, just you wait and see."

    would it be something like.....

"toma mi mano, ahora viviras a traves de mi, te hare sentir orgulloso, solo tu espera y mira" ?

does it need to contain "tu" anywhere in there, or does it already contain the idea of "tu" through reflexive pronouns etc.? and should the last sentence be "esperas y miras" or is it not necessary to pluralize those words?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello Thomas!!

Your translation was not that bad... I would suggest the following:

Toma mi mano, ahora vivirás a través de mí, te haré sentir orgulloso; sólo espera y verás.

That would be my suggestion. Regarding the pluralization of the last two words, I have to say that they are notpluralized.. They are conjugated

Hope I could help!!! Let's wait and see if you get more suggestions!!!

    ¡Hola Thomasdc! / Hi Thomasdc!

Este es mi intento: / This is my try:

"Toma mi mano, ahora vivirás a traves de mi, te haré sentir orgulloso, solo espera y lo verás."

No es necesario repetir el todas las veces porque es la misma oración y mantiene el mismo sujeto tácito mediante el uso de pronombres reflexivos. (Espero que entiendas esto y que no me esté equivocando de nombre gramatical ...) / It isn't necessary to repeat "" all of the times because it's the same sentence and it keeps the same subject unspoken through the use of reflexive pronouns. (Hope you understand this and I'm not mistaken the gramatical names ...)

Espero que pueda servirte de ayuda. / Hope this could be of help.

thankyou both very much! i understand what you both mean with the reflexive pronouns and the conjugations.

also it was suggested to me that orgulloso would change to "orgullosa", as the deceased is female, do you both agree with this?

the only other difference is the last part of the sentence where laurinha you have included "lo", what would the that mean/emphasize?

    again thanks for your help!

    Hi Thomas!
Yes, if the one you're dedicating this to is a female, then it should be "orgullosa".
And you can do it with or without the "lo" before veras, it's the same. That "lo" is like saying "you'll see it (that' I'll make you proud)", so it's no difference... I mean, the meaning is clear with or without it... (I like it better without "lo" )

    Hope this helps!!

    Yes, I agree with gise1984...

Besides, in my opinion, "espera y verás" is like a collocation, is it right?? It's widely used...

Hope you get a very nice tatoo!!!
