Hello- if someone would be willing to correct my mistakes when I translated this presentation from english to spanish that would be sooo great. I have what I want to say in english and how I think you say it in spanish beneath it... and corrections you could make would be greatly appreciated!!

My presentation is about the history of the Macarena dance and its Spanish origins. I plan to tell about how a simple dance was able to influence and bring together many different cultures. This topic interests me because of its origins in Venezuela and because the Macarena’s popularity is known all over the world.
Mi presentación está acerca de la historia del baile de Macarena y sus orígenes españoles. Planeo decir acerca de cómo un baile sencillo pudo influir y reunir muchas culturas diferentes. Este tema me interesa a causa de sus orígenes en Venezuela y porque la popularidad del Macarena es sabida por todo el mundo.
The story behind the Macarena is quite unique. In March of 1992, the band Los del Rio was invited to tour South America. Both members of the band Antonio Romero Monge and Rafael Ruiz were invited to Gustavo Cisneros private party while in Venezuela. Cisneros arranged for a local flamenco dancer, Diana Particia Cubillan Herrera, to do a small performance. Los del Rio were pleasantly surprised by Diana’s performance and Romero spontaneously recited the song’s chorus on the spot “Give your body some joy, Magdalene, ‘cause your body is for giving joy and good things too.”

Cisneros arregló para un bailarín local de flamenco, Diana Particia Cubillan Herrera, para hacer un pequeño desempeño. Del de Los Rio fue sorprendido agradablemente por el desempeño de Diana y por Romero recitó espontáneamente el coro de la canción en el lugar "Dale a tu cuerpo alegría, Ma’dalena, que tu cuerpo e’ pa’ darle alegría y cosa’ buena ".

At the time, “Magdalena” was already the title of another popular song, so instead they decided to call it “Macarena, the name of Romero’s daughter. The song’s lyrics describe a young woman whose boyfriend has been drafted into the Spanish Army who celebrates his being drafted by hooking up with two of his male friends. She has a weakness for men in uniform and dreams of moving to New York City and getting a new boyfriend. The name “Magdalena” can be associated with aspects of Spanish culture. For example: Mary Magdalene who evokes sensuality and *** appeal. Also, the Virgin Mary who is known for being pure and sincere. However, as we listen to the lyrics we see the young woman in this story possessing the opposite of these characteristics.

En aquel momento, "Magdalena" fue ya el título de otra canción popular, así que en lugar ellos decidió llamarlo "Macarena, el nombre de la hija de Romero. La letra de la canción describe a una joven mujer cuyo novio ha sido redactado en el Ejército español que celebra el suyo ser redactada conectando con dos de sus amigos masculinos. It also became popular in Puerto Rico because of its use in the present governor’s, Pedro Russello’s, political campaign. Puerto Rico was the base for many cruise ships and many visitors were constantly exposed to the song during their stay there. This explains why the song popularity spread to and became a hit in the United States, particularly in Miami and New York City.
