    Hi everyone!

    I know that "corona" is crown in odonology. But does anyone know how to say PERNO, WHICH IS A KIND OF SCREW THAT IS INSERTED IN THE TOOTH SO THAT II CAN HOLD THE CROWN.

    THE EXPRESSION IS PERNO Y CORONA: I NEED TO HAVE A PERNO Y CORONA DONE!

    What you call "perno" is the implant per se. Sometimes it is also referred to as shaft, fixation screw or anchor.

    What you call "perno" is the implant per se, which is also called fixation screw, shaft or anchor. Yv Zo's translation sounds perfect to me!

    no se traduce como "root canal"? I'm not 100% sure but I've seen it as "I NEED TO GET A ROOT CANAL DONE"...

    Hola maria victoria,

    root canal, is tratamiento de conducto. However in a root canal, a screw and a crown are needed.

    These are the different steps in the process:
    First off, when you still have your natural tooth, you get a root canal done to kill the nerve endings and affix a prosthetic crown to whatever is left from your natural crown/tooth roots. When this procedure cannot be followed, you get your tooth pulled out; and finally, you get an implant to replace the missing piece. ;-)
