Thread: ayuda con esto

Hola quiero decir la siguiente frase: Tu encontrarás la persona que pueda darte la felicidad que yo no puedo darte.

Este es mi intento:

You'll find the person who give you the happiness that I can't give you.

Por favor ayudarme a corregir si está mal escrito, gracias.

You will find another one who will give you the joy that I can't give you. (pretty sad remark!);-) or I am sure you'll find another one who will give you the joy that I can't give you.

mariaklec is right when using a more literal translation for "pueda". I confess that I used "will" because I thought it would fit better to the meaning I read between the lines (i.e. that you definitely want this person to try a different way). That's why I also stated that for me it looked like a pretty sad remark :-(

I wasn't disagreeing with you. I think you make a lot of sense!

I was just trying to show Anabel that her original statement is grammatically incorrect because she is missing a modal that corresponds to the function of pueda. I just wanted her to see that she needed a word in that space, just like in Spanish.
