    Default "La Gallina Turuleca" - what does turuleca mean?

    Evidently, this is a children's song translated into Spanish from Portuguese. I have tried several translators on the web and I cannot find a translation for "turuleca" (neither Spanish nor Portuguese). Can someone please translate this? And if you know a bit of history regarding this tune, well that would be appreciated too. Thank you.

    Turuleca means fool or silly. This phrase is very colloquial.

    I grew up with this song (very popular by Gaby, Fofo & Miliki, BTW) and I always thought Turuleca was the hen's name!! so thanks Clarab :-)
