    Default Homework help?

I am attempting to assist my 11 year old with her homework and we have hit a roadblock. Does anyone know what the word género means as it relates to electricity or magnetism?

    The questions are:

One of the words in the box is género.

P.S. sorry for my lack of accents, I can't remember at the moment how to insert them...

I don't understand exactly what he has to do. Wish I could help you more, but the instructions of the exercise are unclear to me.

Género: Conjunto de seres que tienen uno o varios caracteres comunes. Clase o tipo a que pertenecen personas o cosas.

It is the general class of something.

The question is just your typical match the question with the words below. I did not list all of the words, genero is one of the words in the box. So the question is, what does genero have to do with magnetism or electricity? Or how does it relate to the four questions I listed?

Are there so many words in the box that you can't type them here to make this easier?

Or perhaps género is not meant to be used at all.

When I design exercises of choose from the box, I put more words than items to be matched. Say the exercise has 6 items, then I put 9 words in the box. They are called distractors in test design.

I think that "género" means "fabric" in this context...

I agree with gentle. The word "género" means fabric.
    According to RAE

And that's the only definition that makes any sense at all to me in this situation. I suspect Cotty is right; that it was just tossed in, but I also suspect the teacher that composed the test made a mistake. About the only thing I can think of that sticks to a magnet but that does not conduct electricity is a plastic magnet.

    Hi G.
Well, as usual you know I like to stick to the point in question which was
So the question is, what does genero have to do with magnetism or electricity? Or how does it relate to the four questions I listed? So there you have it. Telling her the diff DRAE meanings of the word didn't directly help her.

In any case the person never came back for more.
