    What is the usual form to start a sentence in which we declare a hypothesis?
    In Spanish we say:
    "supongamos ahora un elemento cualquiera de forma que..."

    In a mathematical context it's usual to say "Assume an element such that ...", or "Take an element ...", or "Let E be any element ...", etc.

    Es también muy común expresar hipótesis utilizando claúsulas condicionales con if, verbos modales y adverbios para indicar los distintos grados de posibilidad y probabilidad.
