In my opinion, as a person of 30 years old, I never use the term to refer to someone as brave. I always use the english meaning of the word.
Perhaps, as carmenlm says, it is a matter of era. Now, this word has lost its true meaning and adopted the English one.
vaya, no lo sabía, siempre me pregunté por que el himno a la bandera argentina dice
"y llena de orgullo y bizarría, a San Lorenzo se dirigió inmortal"
entonces bizarría es lo mismo que decir valentía.

Exacto Salvador, bizarría es sinonimo de valentía.. Jonatane, actually bizarre is a French word, and the English language has adopted it from it.
