Saludos amigos. Summit is technically correct BUT I've never heard summit used in that expression. Height is commonly used.

Another one. epitome of something: the epitome of arrogance; the epitome of beauty

Then there is ultimate: the ultimate insult; the ultimate achievement

Final: the final blow. the final slap in the face

Another good one: to top it all off: "Things went badly from the start and to top it all off she told me I was ugly."

I was surprised to read that you have never heard height used in this context. How about "...at the height of his career; the height of the battle, the height of the tourist season, etc."

Maybe it's regional.
