Hola Diego. jetlynx1 was translating a legal document and posted this in another thread in which I tried to help him. He just wanted to make sure a native English speaker would understand his translation.
Just a note of interest to our colleagues.
The term "civil registry" is rarely, if ever used in the U.S.
Birth records, as well as all other such records (marriage, death, divorce, etc.) are kept by departments with names such as: Bureau of Vital Statistics; Department of Health; Office (Bureau, Division) of Vital Records, or something similar depending the on state in which the records are to be found.
