    Question Estimate

How would you translate "I need a written estimate." The word "estimacion' just does not sound right. thanks

If you are talking about an amount, you could say "quiero un monto estimado por escrito" or "quiero un estimado del monto por escrito",

    Hope it helps

En España usamos la palabra presupuesto en el contexto.

    Necesito un presupuesto por escrito.

Thanks. I was not sure about monto. Also, I thought "Presupuesto" was a translation for "Budget." Thanks again.

In fact ; presupuesto is a translation for budget; and I do not think it is the word you are looking for. In Venezuela we use the word “cotización” (quote or price listing) . However I did not suggest it because when you ask for a cotización you are not asking for an estimate (approximate price), but for the exact price the establishment is going to charge. In fact, establishments are obliged to maintain the prices they give you in a quote for a certain reasonable period, even if the prices have changed at the time the transaction takes place.

Hi! "Presupuesto" is one posible translation for "estimate". It could also be translated as: cálculo aproximado, valoración, juicio.

    Regards,

Coincido con exxxcentrica y Mirta: "presupuesto por escrito" me parece la mejor opción. Suerte!

Hola Humberto, ¿a qué caso te refieres? El postor no ha dado contexto, así que presuposto me parece adecuado. También puede ser valoración, desde luego, si se trata de ponerle precio, un suponer , a un coche o una casa.
