I don't think we have an exact expression in English but it would be something like "tripping twice over the same stone" or "being twice a fool", something along those lines. Sandra and Hebe explained it perfectly!!! Hope it helps!Originally Posted by vicente

Yes, you could say so. He is using the word to say he made the same mistake. Just like Hebe said"I came up against (or ran into) the same rock again". Is piedra slang for problem o algo asi?

En Argentina, la expresión es matar dos pájaros de un tiro, que significa lo que vos mencionas: tener la ventaja de hacer dos cosas al mismo tiempo.
"Con la misma piedra" no se el contexto pero si de frases idiomáticas se trata, podría ser , tropezar con la misma piedra, que significa, cometer el mismo error una y otra vez.

Entonces, a mi, parece que para usar con la misma piedra hay que usar el verbo tropezar...por lo menos en el contexto de la canción de Julio.

Sí, Vicente... correcto. Es una expresión que se usa con el verbo tropezar... y la canción de Julio Iglesias es perfecta para ejemplificarlo.
Te cuento de otra expresión muy usada (al menos por acá) a través de un ejemplo: "No voy a ser tan tonta de meter las manos en el ventilador dos veces" (I'm not that silly as to put my hands in the fan twice)... no voy a cometer el mismo error dos veces... Alguien alguna vez escuchó esta expresión?
Ah Y me acordé de un refrán popular: "El que se quema con leche, ve una vaca y llora"... ¿Tiene su equivalente en Inglés?
