Qué significa esta oración: El presidente aseguró que no quería nada de nadie y que no era un momento para confrontaciones, por lo que tras consultar con sus asesores decidió dimitir.
Lo creo que quiera decir: The president assured that he didn't want anything from anyone and didn't want confrontations and after consulting with his advisors he decided to step down.

In general your translatin is fine but it would be more accruate to say "this was not a time for confrontations" instead of "he didn't want confrontations".
