Hi Everybody:
I'd like to know how i can express in English "Salta es la provinica mas al sur de pais"
I thought it could be "Salta is the most southern province of the country.
Do you think i is ok?
Thanks,
Diegonel

What about "Salta es la provincia más al sur del país"Originally Posted by diegonel

I'd go with "Salta is the southernmost province in the country."
It's none of my business, but the only Salta that comes to mind is in northern Argentina. If you're talking about Argentina, look into the province of Tierra del Fuego.
hahaha... You're right Thomas! I guess Diego just set it as an example.Originally Posted by Thomas

Thank you very much.
Thomas, you are right, Salta is in Argentina and I made a silly mistake . Of course Salta is the northernmost province in the country.
Thanks again.
Is Wikipedia wrong?
The World's most southern

I clicked the link and the only Argentine province mentioned in that article is Usuahia, which would be ok right?
[quote=pames]Mi pregunta es sobre la expresión: The World's most southern (un título de Wikipedia cuyo link incluí)Originally Posted by mem286
Thomas sugirió: the southermost province, y parece ser la adecuada, pero entonces decir The most southern ... está mal?
Thanks!
Hola Mem,
Apparently Wikipedia is right, jajaja. However, I looked up "northermost" in a dictionary and there is an example that reads "the northernrmost city of the country", as Thomas suggested.
The point is that I would have never come up with that word...
Have a nice Monday, bye
